 The
cottage was originally a 'Granjoun' or secondary farmhouse, typical of
Provence. Wonderful views over the surrounding vineyards and hills,
including the renowned Mont Ventoux. It has a private pool (9 x
4.5 m) with large terrace, pool house with sun beds, table and chairs. There
is a further terrace by the house with a built-in barbecue and
shady areas in the garden (with table and chairs) for outdoor eating and
relaxing. The large garden has flowering shrubs, fruit trees and vines. It
is one of two cottages: the second one, situated slightly to the rear of
ours, belongs to a French neighbour who helps look after the property. The
cottage has full central heating and a fine log fire.

 Situated
in open countryside and surrounded by vines, it is only 1 Km from Vaison-la-Romaine,
an historic town with extensive Roman remains, mediaeval Old Town, superb
Provencal
market on Tuesdays and excellent restaurants, bars and cafes. An excellent 'boulangerie'
is a 10 minute walk away. The area is well served with facilities for riding,
cycling, hiking, rock climbing and canoeing (in the Ardeche Gorges) and is also
a renowned wine area, with villages such as Gigondas and Cairanne 20 minutes
drive away. 45 minutes from Avignon, the region is full of delightful unspoiled
villages such as Puymeras and Faucon and lovely Provencal countryside. Easy
access via the airports of Marseilles, Nimes and Montpellier, by rail to Avignon
or by car via A7 'Autoroute du Soleil'.
 The
house has a beamed living room with satellite TV (UK free sat and French TV),
music centre, log fire and a fully equipped beamed kitchen with hob, combi
oven/microwave,
Nespresso machine, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher (washing machine in
utility room). 2
double bedrooms (one with king sized double bed, one with twin beds) with plenty
of storage space. Family bathroom with bath and shower, 2 separate WCs.
The spacious pool house has a fridge, shower and WC and a large open covered
area in which to sit and relax with views of Mont Ventoux and surrounding hills.
No smoking or pets in the cottage.
